Your Mission

We are building a scalable, reliable, and increasingly automated accounts payable function across Germany and the US. As an Accounts Payable Working Student, you will take ownership of defined parts of the AP process alongside your studies, while getting hands-on exposure to the systems, controls, and workflows behind it.

What You'll Do

  • AP Ownership: Own defined parts of the invoice lifecycle, including invoice intake, coding, and approval routing, with guidance available for more complex issues.
  • Vendor Management: Respond to routine vendor inquiries and help resolve discrepancies, escalating more complex cases to the AP team.
  • Close & Reconciliation: Support reconciling the AP sub ledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close tasks such as AP aging and accrual schedules.
  • Controls & Compliance: Help document and follow established controls over vendor onboarding, invoice approval, and record keeping.
  • Automation & AI: Support automation and AI-enabled workflow projects by helping test, document, and refine new tools.
  • ERP Integration: Assist with ERP integration tasks, including data entry, testing, and post-go-live cleanup.
  • Process Improvement: Help identify recurring issues and support the rollout of process improvements.
  • Cross-Entity Coordination: Support coordination of AP activity across the German and US entities alongside the AP team.
  • Tax & Documentation: Help maintain W-9 and W-8 documentation and support 1099 reporting tasks.
  • Audit Support: Help prepare organized, complete documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
  • Card Process Support: Help manage day-to-day corporate card workflows during the transition period.

Your profile

  • Currently enrolled as a student (Bachelor's or Master's) in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, for the duration of the role.
  • Some hands-on exposure to accounting or AP tasks through coursework, a prior internship, or a previous working-student role.
  • Working knowledge of AP fundamentals, or a strong willingness to learn them quickly.
  • Comfort with Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and basic pivot tables.
  • Good written and spoken English; German is a plus.
  • Ability to manage recurring tasks independently once trained, and to flag issues early.
  • Available for at least 15–20 hours per week, ideally for multiple semesters, with flexibility around exam periods.
  • Based in Hamburg or nearby.
