Vehicle Test Driver Intern – Europe

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and safety-focused Vehicle Test Driver Intern to support overseas vehicle testing projects across Europe.

In this role, you will assist with real-world road testing, vehicle data collection, basic vehicle inspections and test documentation. You will travel with our engineering and testing teams and support the European validation of electric vehicles and advanced driver-assistance systems.

This position is suitable for currently enrolled students, particularly those studying automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive test vehicles on public roads and designated test routes according to approved test procedures.
• Execute dynamic vehicle tests and accurately record required test events and data points.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic component installation or removal, and first-level troubleshooting.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of vehicle condition, mileage and test activities.
• Identify and document vehicle abnormalities, including relevant test conditions and supporting data.
• Work closely with engineers and other test drivers to complete daily testing assignments.
• Follow project schedules, traffic regulations and all applicable vehicle-testing and safety procedures.
• Support additional operational tasks related to vehicle testing when required.

Candidate Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student, preferably in automotive engineering or another vehicle-related discipline.
• Valid driving licence accepted in Germany and the relevant European countries.
• At least five years of regular driving experience and strong practical driving skills.
• Clean driving record, with no serious traffic offences or major at-fault accidents.
• Able to safely perform the essential driving duties of the role.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete digital forms, test records and simple reports.
• Fluent Mandarin Chinese is required for ADAS data-collection assignments.
• Basic English communication skills are preferred; additional European languages are an advantage.
• Willing and able to travel extensively throughout Europe, including assignments lasting 30 days or longer.
• Available for project-based schedules that may include Saturdays and occasional weekday overtime.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, safety-conscious and able to follow technical instructions.
• Experience with electric vehicles, vehicle testing, automotive clubs, motorsport teams or premium vehicles is an advantage.
• Experience driving with a trailer is an advantage, provided the candidate holds the required licence category.
• Must have the legal right to work in Germany and travel to project locations within Europe.
