As a Working Student for Automotive Software Systems, you will support the Field Application Engineering team in our Munich office. You will play a role in troubleshooting, debugging, and navigating complex software systems.
The ideal candidate is a skilled student with a software engineering background and interest in software development, problem-solving, and automotive systems.
System LSI is a division within Samsung Semiconductors Europe dedicated to enhancing cars with cutting-edge infotainment systems and sensors to ensure safe driving. You will support the SoC FAE team that is responsible for customer technical support of ongoing projects.
Role And Responsibilities
- [Support]: Assist in deploying software and provide ongoing support. Address and resolve issues reported by end-users in a timely manner. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to software and hardware components.
- [Coding and Debugging]: The ideal candidate knows how to navigate complex software systems and work in un-familiar software. Identify and resolve software defects and issues through debugging and troubleshooting. Know how to analyze complex debug reports and define strategies to analyze interactions between different systems and hardware. Create tools and applications to analyze and assist with the troubleshooting of different sub-systems.
- [Documentation]: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems and application to be used by costumers to get familiar with Samsung technology. It includes designing documents, user manuals, and release notes that will be used by costumers and internally.
- [Prototyping]: Develop software prototypes quickly to validate and demonstrate concepts, and features of Samsung products. You will help to create functional and interactive prototypes and document them.
- You have successfully completed at least 3 semesters of study and currently enrolled in full-time studies of Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or similar in Munich
- You have first experience and interest in software development, with proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Python, Java or others
- Understanding of basic concepts of computer architecture in a multi-core multi-threaded system
- Comfortable exploring new technologies and tools to enhance your skills and improve your work
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Interest in software architecture for embedded systems
- Knowledge/Interest of Linux systems as a user and as a developer
- Ability to work independently
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
- A plus would be to have experience with OpenGL ES / Vulkan
- A plus would be to have experience with Qt or any other GUI framework
- A plus would be to have experience with Linux kernel
- A plus would be to have experience with Android Open Source Project
