Role Description The Partnerships and Public Affairs Intern will support the development and management of strategic relationships with industry partners, research institutions, and public sector stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks include conducting background research on potential partners, preparing briefings and presentation materials, and helping coordinate meetings, visits, and events in Munich. The intern will assist in drafting communication materials such as stakeholder updates, talking points, and public affairs summaries, and contribute to tracking relevant policy and regulatory developments in energy and technology. This internship role is on-site and based in Munich, providing close collaboration with the core team and exposure to cross-functional projects related to partnerships, communications, and public affairs.

Qualifications

  • Strong research and analytical abilities, including synthesizing complex technical and policy information into clear, concise summaries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • Interest in energy, climate, technology policy, or innovation ecosystems; familiarity with fusion or advanced energy technologies is beneficial.
  • Ability to build professional relationships, collaborate effectively in a team, and engage with external stakeholders in a clear and respectful manner.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prepare meeting materials, and support event coordination with attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, showing initiative, ownership, and a willingness to learn from feedback.
  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in a relevant field such as public policy, international relations, economics, communications, engineering, or a related discipline.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
