About Munich Electrification

Munich Electrification is an innovative company founded with the aim of accelerating the transition to electric and connected mobility. We develop innovative electronic control units for electric vehicles and stationary storage systems for our global customers. Our international team is composed of highly motivated and exceptional engineers. As a small and specialized team we are well-aware of the importance of each individual colleague and support and promote each employee according to their abilities and needs. Our office with adjacent prototype and testing lab is located in the heart of Munich at the Heimeranplatz.

This is what we stand for:

- Technological Leadership: We challenge norms, innovate quickly, and anticipate future needs. We take smart risks and learn from outcomes to stay ahead.

- Sustainability: We actively drive change for a sustainable future, aware of our impact and inspiring others to build a better world.

- Team Culture: We believe work should be enjoyable, fostering a spirit of inspiration, celebration, and teamwork across the globe.

- Entrepreneurial Spirit: We embrace change, think big, and push limits with passion.

About the role

The Microfactory serves as our advanced internal sample shop, bridging the gap between early product design and global mass production. In this role, your main focus will be supporting day-to-day sample shop operations, executing physical engineering improvement projects, and helping build early product variants. Additionally, you will participate in special projects to support the gradual introduction of Manufacturing 4.0 / Industry 4.0 initiatives (such as smart tools and digital data capture) under the guidance of senior engineers.

Your future tasks at a glance

  • Sample Shop Support & Build Execution: Assist the engineering team in preparing, physically assembling, and tracking early-stage prototypes, alpha/beta samples, and variant builds within the microfactory.
  • Process Improvement Projects: Proactively identify baseline process bottlenecks or layout inefficiencies on the floor. Bring creative ideas to the team and collaborate directly with engineers to physically implement and execute these workplace improvements.
  • Equipment & Assembly Upgrades: Assist in installing, maintaining, and upgrading physical assembly fixtures, mechanical workbenches, and hardware components inside the microfactory.
  • Manufacturing 4.0 & Traceability Support: Support secondary engineering projects focused on smart factory tool configuration, component tracking integration (e.g., hardware scanning, torque logging), and digital work instructions.
  • Lessons Learned & Documentation: Help capture data, parameter records, and assembly issues encountered during sample builds to compile clear, insightful documentation for our external production partners.

What you bring with you

  • Current Studies: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-On Mindset: Highly motivated by hands-on engineering tasks. You love moving between a technical workspace and a physical assembly bench to build things and tackle technical challenges.
  • Proactive Approach: A self-starter attitude with the ability to look at processes on the shop floor, spot layout or assembly inefficiencies, and pitch action plans.
  • Technical Basics: Familiarity with core Lean principles, cycle times, takt times, and how process constraints impact overall production flow. Exposure to or interest in smart factory elements is beneficial.
  • Communication: Collaborative team player with solid written and verbal communication habits in English.
