Stellenbeschreibung

We are an innovative aerospace startup seeking a Working Student - Flight Test & Manufacturing to join our team and who is curious about new technologies for our our cutting-edge drone. At Maple Aviation we develop a unique Tail-Sitter Drone, that flies with one propeller only and is controlled in position via a flap-thrust-vectoring system. In this role, you will work closely with our research and development team to test drone prototypes from concept to final production. In this role you will be responsible to support Flight Test execution and leverage our manufcaturing machines, covering classic workshop machines, high quality 3D-printing and advanced aerospace foams and composites to produce parts for our drone. You will assemble and maintain our drone for flight tests and will be deeply involved in optimization together with the design team and flight control system team. We are looking for hobby tinkerer which have long experience in building and flying i.e. model aeroplanes, robots, cars etc.


Tasks

  • Flight test our drone based on Ardupilot and PX4

  • Flight test preparation, including HW and SW readiness checks

  • Manufacturing of drone parts

  • Assembly of drone parts incl. HW assembly, spot welding of batteries, soldering of electrical components

  • Design and Process improvement

  • Deeply involved in development acitivites across the team


Requirements

  • BA Sc., in mechanical, aerospace, robotics, automotive, electric engineering or related field

  • 3 + years of hands on experience in hobby tinkering, such as model aircraft, cars, robots, etc.

  • Very good knowledge in the field of mechanics and ideally electronics

  • Experience with Px4/Ardupilot flight controller

  • Interested in model aircraft construction, drones or robotics and can't wait to


implement and try out new ideas.



  • You are highly self-motivated and drive your area of responsibility forward


independently. You teach us new things that holistically improve our team


and make it more efficient.



  • We are an international team communicating in English (other language skills


are also an advantage).
