Your tasks/h3>

We are looking for a motivated Intern to support our Syndicate desk on the EUR platform. The successful candidate will assist in the origination support and execution of EUR. The role offers exposure to primary bond markets, investor behaviour in Europe, and cross‑border regulatory environments. A strong interest in capital markets and fixed income is essential.

Deal Support & Syndication Assistance

  • Support the Syndicate team in the execution of EUR denominated FIG and corporate transactions, including covered bonds, senior preferred/non‑preferred, SNP and ESG/green bonds.
  • Help prepare deal set-up
  • Assist in monitoring orderbooks, preliminary pricing indications and allocation proposals during live transactions.
  • Support accurate internal documentation, approvals and deal booking in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Help coordinate post‑closing processes such as settlement follow‑up, revenue overviews and basic transaction reporting.

Market Intelligence & Product Support

  • Monitor primary and secondary EUR markets with a focus on European bank and corporate supply, ESG issuance and relative value across curves and sectors.
  • Prepare concise daily or weekly market summaries for internal use (recent deals, market tone, key data releases and central bank events affecting issuance windows).
  • Collect and analyse market data (e.g. supply pipeline, new issue premiums, spread performance) to support Syndicate strategy and pitch preparation.
  • Contribute to internal presentations and thought pieces on supply trends, investor demand by region, and pricing developments in Europe.

Client & Internal Coordination Support

  • Work closely with Syndicate, DCM/Origination, Sales and Trading teams to support the preparation of pitch books and client materials for European issuers.
  • Assist in organising issuer and investor meetings, roadshows and conference calls (logistics, materials, briefing notes).
  • Gather and structure investor feedback after transactions to support post‑trade analysis and client debriefs.
  • Support the team in building green and sustainable bond expertise by maintaining overviews of European ESG frameworks, labels and recent ESG issuance.

Team Support, Tools & Processes

  • Help maintain and update the Syndicate database, pipeline tracking tools and internal reporting dashboards.
  • Assist in enhancing templates and digital tools used for deal execution, data collection and reporting.
  • Contribute to process documentation and best‑practice guides for recurring tasks (market updates, transaction summaries, investor feedback).
  • Proactively support ad‑hoc analytical tasks and research requested by Syndicate and DCM colleagues.

Your profile

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Ongoing university studies in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; strong academic performance.
  • Demonstrated interest in capital markets and fixed income (e.g. relevant coursework, student initiatives, prior internships).
  • Any previous experience (internship/working student) in banking, asset management, treasury or consulting is a plus, especially in capital markets or DCM/Syndicate‑related areas.

Technical & Market Skills

  • Basic understanding of bond markets, yield curves, spreads and the difference between primary and secondary markets; willingness to deepen expertise in these areas.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable working with market data and Excel.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Bloomberg or other data platforms is an advantage but not required.

Personal & Interpersonal Skills

  • Clear and concise communication skills; able to summarise market developments and data in a structured way.
  • High level of initiative, curiosity and reliability; able to work under time pressure during live transactions.
  • Team‑oriented mindset; comfortable working with colleagues from Origination, Sales, Trading and support functions across locations.
  • Detail‑oriented and organised approach to documentation, process tasks and internal reporting.

Languages

  • Fluent English (required).
  • German strongly preferred; other European languages (e.g. French, Italian, Spanish) are an advantage given the European issuer and investor base.
