Intro

carbmee works with the largest companies in automotive, defense and industrials on some of their hardest data problems. Their transactional data, bills of materials and unstructured data sit in different systems and rarely talk to each other.

The EIS, the Environmental Intelligence System, connects them at item level and runs AI on top: matching items to emission factors, checking data quality and recommending reductions. ZF, ZEISS and Maersk use carbmee to make sourcing, product and compliance decisions with numbers they can defend.

The role

This is not an internship where you fix CSS for six months. You join our engineering team and ship real features across the stack, used by enterprise customers handling tens of thousands of suppliers. You get a mentor, real code reviews and ownership of your own pieces of the product from your first weeks.

Your tasks

  • Build and ship features end to end with React/Next.js, NestJS, Python and PostgreSQL.
  • Work with product and our Forward Deployed Engineers to understand what customers actually need.
  • Write clean, tested code and take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving.
  • Help us make complex enterprise data fast and clear in the interface.
  • Own at least one feature from idea to production during your internship.

Your profile

  • You’re studying computer science, software engineering or a comparable field, with a strong academic record.
  • Solid foundations in TypeScript or JavaScript, ideally with React, and some experience with a backend in Node.js or Python.
  • Something you built and are proud of: a side project, an open-source contribution, a hackathon project or a previous internship.
  • You learn fast, ask good questions and take ownership without being asked.

What we require

  • Enrolled at a university for the full duration of the internship.
  • Available for 6 months, full-time.
  • Fluent English.
  • Based in Munich during the internship, 3 days a week in the office.

Benefits

  • Unique & Powerful Mission: join a fast-growing and ambitious tech company that is shaping the future of carbon management and fighting climate change
  • Compensation & Rewards: a steep learning curve and ownership from day one. We offer an attractive compensation package, including virtual stock options
  • Health & Wellbeing: Urban Sports Club subscription to stay healthy & fit.1:1 coaching sessions with Nilohealth for your mental well-being.
  • Flexible & Balanced: A hybrid setup with 3 days/week in our Munich office. Real collaboration time with the team, plus the flexibility to structure the rest of your week where you focus best.
  • Team Culture: Our transparency, Humility, and Accountability values create a unique and supportive working environment. Be part of a multinational, motivated team that thinks work should be fun!
  • Connection & Networking: Summer Offsite, Winter Party, and regular team events We give you plenty of opportunities to connect with people, strengthen cross-functional relationships, and boost collaboration
  • Trust & Transparency: monthly All-Hands Meetings, weekly update newsletters, and Founders Q&As. We keep you informed on current company numbers and goals
