An exciting opportunity has arisen within Airbus Engineering for a student to join the Surface Technology team in the Materials, Processes, and Test Department for an internship. As a member of the research projects dealing with the development of the latest paint technologies, you will join a team of highly motivated and dedicated professionals. Together, you will develop and deploy new benchmark-applied chemistry in the field of chromate-free paint and coating development, helping shape the future of sustainable aviation.
The Role

This position is based in Bremen. The successful candidate will report directly to the local supervisor.

Your tasks and responsibilities
- Support the overall research and development of a sustainable, next-generation paint system.
- Research and development of EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) compliant primer and paint systems.
- Support research on inhibition concepts for paint systems and assess their influence on corrosion protection.
- Evaluate the technical performance of product proposals by defining test programs, executing testing, and preparing technical reports.
- Conduct analytical investigations regarding the physical and chemical properties of various coatings.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled student in the field of Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paint Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Interests: A strong passion for surface technology, corrosion, paints and coatings, and corrosion inhibition.
- Experience: Prior experience in the analytical evaluation and corrosion assessment of organic coatings is a strong plus.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and analytical skills are mandatory.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a multi-location, international team.
- Languages: Negotiation-level English is required.

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.
