Software Engineer (Intern / Working Student)

acemate is building an AI learning & teaching platform for higher and further education institutions. We have strong traction, secured funding and are entering an exciting growth phase. We're looking for a passionate Full-Stack Developer (Intern / Working Student) to drive our product forward and help us scale.

Tasks

What You'll Do Here

Your day-to-day will lean into your personal strengths and interests, spanning both product development and technical infrastructure. Because you're coming in as part of the core team, you'll directly influence our big-picture strategy, product roadmap, and technical architecture.

Product Development:

• Work closely with Paul and Emile to launch new features and refine our existing ones


• Translate real user feedback into tangible product improvements

Technical Leadership:

• Ensure our systems stay scalable and stable as more users join


• Constantly update our AI toolchains so we're always leveraging the latest AI advancements


• Develop on a modern tech foundation running mostly on Google Cloud and Cloudflare

Examples of past projects to give you a sense of the work:

• A Duolingo-style daily quiz system that helps keep students actively learning their university course material


• Advanced AI pipelines built to extract images and text from various documents and embed them into knowledge graphs


• A custom authorization engine structured to handle the growing complexity of varied institutional setups

Tech Stack:

• Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS


• Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL)


• Infrastructure: Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, Workflows, R2, KV), Google Cloud (Gemini, Cloud Run)


• Tools: Sentry, Langfuse, PostHog, Stripe
