This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for SoftBank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Your Role And Responsibilities

Ready to design something from scratch and shape the future of robotics?

At ABB Robotics in Gilching, we’re looking for a UX Design working student who wants to build a brand‑new interface from the ground up. You’ll take the UX lead for this product, supported by our wider ABB UX community.

The Work Model For The Role Is

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Design a new interface from zero, workflows, layouts, visuals
• Create clean mockups, sketches, and quick prototypes
• Explore early concepts and bring structure to open‑ended ideas
• Work closely with engineering and product teams in Gilching
• Make user‑focused design decisions that guide the product forward
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• You’re enrolled in any bachelor’s program, with a strong interest in UX/UI, Interaction Design, HCI, or similar areas
• Curious about using AI tools to support your design process (for exploration, concepting, or speeding up tasks)
• Able to work independently in Figma
• Enjoy working independently and driving your own design process
• Interest about robotics and building tools for real users
• Curiosity, creativity, and a “let’s try it” attitude
