About The Role

This role will be primarily to support our editorial books team; we are looking for a motivated working student to assist with administrative processes related to author data management and book publications. You will receive training on the job by senior editorial assistants and report into the Associate Publisher. The working hours of this fixed-term position (12 months) are 8.75 hours/week at a monthly wage of 705 Euro in the Weinheim office location; a hybrid work model is possible after initial training.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Entering and maintaining author, editor, and project data in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Preparing Copyright Transfer Agreements (CTAs) for book chapters
  • Managing the electronic distribution and follow-up of CTAs
  • Coordinating the shipment of complimentary copies upon publication
  • Providing general administrative support to the editorial team
  • Communicating with authors and editors in German and English
  • Manage high-volume data input while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Willingness to support the editorial team beyond the responsibilities outlined above, if required

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at a university
  • Organized and reliable working style
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Confident use of standard PC applications and willing to quickly learn new IT systems
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
  • Customer-oriented mindset and enjoyment of organizational and administrative tasks
