Your Mission

Help shape the future of digital healthcare and surgical innovation. As part of Stryker’s Research & Development team, you will contribute to projects that combine medical imaging, software development, and surgical navigation technologies. You'll gain hands-on experience working with advanced technologies, develop practical engineering skills, and collaborate with experts from different disciplines. This Medical Engineering Internship offers meaningful project ownership, exposure to innovation in a global MedTech company, and the opportunity to contribute to technologies that help improve patient care worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Develop prototype solutions for innovative applications in surgical navigation and medical imaging
  • Support proof-of-concept projects for next-generation navigation technologies
  • Implement and test software solutions using C++, Python, and MATLAB
  • Evaluate technologies and concepts within advanced medical imaging and navigation ecosystems
  • Collaborate with an international Research & Development team to bring innovative ideas to life

What You'll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Medical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and experience with C++
  • Initial experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages
  • Familiarity with OpenCV, VTK, Qt, DCMTK, or comparable software libraries is a plus
  • Good English language skills (minimum B2)

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
