About dena & SET

dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a centre of excellence for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German Government in achieving its energy and climate policy objectives. To this end, it brings together partners from politics, business, academia and all sections of society. Both nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.

The Start Up Energy Transition (SET GIP) is a global innovation platform. The German Energy Agency (dena) is implementing SET GIP with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). The aim is to drive forward disruptive solutions for the energy sector and innovative climate technologies on a sustainable basis worldwide. The focus is on supporting innovations and start-ups that are developing concrete solutions for a climate-resilient future. Through various formats, SET GIP promotes networking, the exchange of knowledge and collaboration between start-ups, investors, companies and policy-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team in implementing communication strategies
  • Conceiving, producing and editing video content for the Start Up Energy Transition Platform – primarily for YouTube and LinkedIn (e.g. event recaps, interviews or explanatory videos)
  • Independently managing and updating the social media channels with creative freedom, in close consultation with the communications specialist
  • Writing engaging copy for social media posts, assisting with the creation of blog articles and presenting complex topics relating to the energy transition in an accessible way
  • Actively supporting the creation, editorial design and distribution of regular newsletters
  • Integrating the produced content (text, images, videos) onto the websites and assisting with website maintenance

Your profile

  • Currently studying media production, video/moving image, communication/media studies or a similar degree programme, ideally with a focus on entrepreneurship or innovation management (an interest in energy innovations, sustainability and start-ups is a big plus!)
  • Practical experience in video production and proficiency in common editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Canva)
  • Some experience in social media writing and/or editorial work (e.g. newsletters, blogs), as well as an eye for language tailored to the target audience and visually appealing presentation
  • Some familiarity with content management systems (preferably WordPress) is a major plus, but not a deal-breaker
  • Confident command of English (the primary working language for the project) and very good command of German
  • A structured and reliable approach to work, an appreciation for creative freedom and a proactive attitude towards contributing your own ideas

We offer

  • Work in an exciting field – at the interface between politics and business
  • Flexibility regarding working hours and remote working (60 per cent)
  • Reimbursement of the Deutschlandticket
  • Holiday entitlement
  • Technical equipment, including a laptop and headset
  • Attractive offices in Berlin with ergonomic workstations
  • Health promotion initiatives
  • A wide range of development opportunities

We offer a supportive, collaborative and open working environment. Drawing on our specialist expertise, we work together to drive the energy transition forward and are constantly expanding our knowledge. We are committed to the German Sustainability Code, with the aim of becoming climate-neutral by 2030.

We warmly welcome applications from people with disabilities and, where candidates are equally qualified, will give them preferential consideration during the recruitment process.
