Intern (m/w/d)

smartbax is a biotech start-up based in Munich/Neuherberg, which aims to introduce the next generation of antibiotics. We develop novel antibacterial compounds with extraordinary potency against multi-drug resistant bacteria and hijack bacterial pathways that no other drug has touched before.

To support this purpose, we are looking for a full-time intern for a minimum of 6 months in the Munich area, starting in October.

Tasks

Your tasks:

• Experimental support of the senior scientific team by conducting a wide array of laboratory work


• Independent execution of standardised experimental workflows


• Discussion of results with the team and management


• Support in laboratory management and organisation

Requirements

Your profile:

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry or a similar discipline, ideally already started with a Master’s degree in the same area


• Experience in working under sterile conditions, with bacteria and/or human cell lines (having both is a plus)


• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently


• Self-organised, enjoys working in small teams


• Communicative, reliable and open mindset with motivation to tackle challenges


• Fluent in English, written and spoken (German is a plus)

Remuneration: 2.409 € per month in full-time (minimum wage)
