⭐️ Your Impact:
Smalt runs marketing and sales for local SHK (plumbing & heating) and Elektro (electrical) craft businesses across Germany — in exchange for a share of their revenue. That means we only make money when our partners do, so everything you touch in this role has a direct line to real revenue, both theirs and ours.
As a Marketing & Operations Intern (m/f/d), you'll sit in our Go-to-Market team and work closely with Venture Development to keep partner marketing running and improving as we scale from our current partner base toward 100, 200, and eventually 300+ partner businesses.
50% Performance & Content Marketing:
- You'll plan, launch, and optimize Google Ads, Meta Ads and Email campaigns for our partner businesses across different regions, with a focus on our SHK and Elektro partners.
- You'll make website adjustments and run optimizations on partner landing pages to keep conversion rates moving in the right direction.
- You'll keep an eye on the numbers that matter — CAC, lead volume, conversion — and adjust campaigns based on what you see, not just what was planned.
25% Design Template Review:
- You'll review and quality-check existing design templates for partner goodies, catching issues and inconsistencies before they go out.
- You'll coordinate with design resources to get templates fixed and finalized.
25% Admin Support:
- You'll handle orders for partner materials and goodies.
- You'll set up portals and automations that keep marketing operations running smoothly as our partner network grows.
✨ What Makes You a Great Fit:
Experience & Skills:
- You're in the final stretch of your bachelor's or in the gap between bachelor's and master's (or already pursuing your master's), ideally in marketing, communications, media, business, or a related field.
- You're very hands-on — no task is too small, and you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done yourself.
- You have an eye for design and some prior experience in performance marketing, in whatever form — an internship, a freelance project, coursework, or something you ran yourself. We're not looking for fancy strategy slides.
- You have a high bias to execution and strong time-management skills — you can juggle paid campaigns, design reviews, and admin work in parallel without losing momentum.
- Fluent English, written and spoken. German is a plus, since our partner businesses are based in Germany.
- Available for 6 months at ~40 hours/week, Berlin-based or relocating for the duration.
- Nice to have: hands-on experience with Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager, basic web/CMS editing skills, or familiarity with automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Make).
☀️ Why You'll Love Working With Us:
- Direct exposure to Smalt's founders - learn from experienced operators and investors
- Competitive internship compensation
- Deutschlandticket or Urban Sports Club Membership
- Steep learning curve at the intersection of tech, product, and operations
- Hybrid work setup (Berlin preferred)
- Flat hierarchies, fast feedback, and a supportive, ambitious team
- Real ownership and impactful projects from day one
- Prospect of moving into a full-time Junior Marketing Manager role after your 6-month internship
