Job Description

Digital Multiphase Controllers and Smart Power Stage Modules are essential components for delivering high & precise power requirements of the CPUs/GPUs used in data centers and AI hardware modules. A single Controller can control up to 32 SPS modules to form a Buck converter that can supply in excess of 2500A to a 0.9V input.

Controllers have many highly customizable features, some of which include:

  • Support up to 4 rails per controller

  • Faults & Warnings for Temperature, Voltage, Current

  • Multi-layer Protection circuitry to have the controller work in a well-defined boundaries

  • Telemetry for monitoring Internal/External Temperature, Input/Output Current/Voltage/Power

  • Flexible phase assignment & ability to auto add/drop

  • Ability to adjust Load & Line per output current demands

  • Highly customizable loop tuning to address various system needs

  • Internal digital scope & black box for fault & functionality debugging

  • Multiple communication interface support: PMBUS, AVS, SVID, SVI3, PWMVID

  • Compliance to Intel, AMD, HPE, Microsoft, Google, Nvidia requirements

Validation tasks aim to verify that all features and functions of the controllers are working according to Industry requirements as well as to internal design specifications.

The validation will cover the complete performance of the controller, both functionally & parametrically. It will be broken into several tasks to ensure all features are fully functional and all parametric performance is within limits as stated in the datasheet. Any bugs found during this time frame will be promptly reported & debugging process will start. Qualitative data collection & reporting is to be provided before the non-flexible deadlines.

If required, support will be provided to other disciplines, such as design, firmware, GUI, test engineering, etc. Test program to bench correlation will be conducted on select parameters and trimmings.

The validation tasks will cover all aspects of the Controller development flow. The candidate is expected to support the variety of validation tasks from the list below while working along the other team members and/or individually:

  • Evaluation Plans

  • Python Scripting

  • Hardware Automation

  • Evaluation & data collection
