Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta’s business unit Advanced Surgery. Specialized in the field of Minimally Invasive Medicine, Novanta Advanced Surgery develops devices and accessories so that doctors can operate with small cuts. We produce Cameras, Insufflators, Medical Pumps, and tubing that make diagnosis and treatment easier for everyone. Our insufflators and pump systems dilate cavities in the body and turn previously complicated surgeries into minor procedures. Together with customers, doctors, and technical experts, our teams continuously search for new ways to innovate.
Job Summary
As a Material Compliance Intern, you will support the Material Compliance team in regulatory compliance activities by reviewing documentation, supporting system‑ and data‑related tasks, and assisting with material compliance declarations in an international environment.
Position Details
Primary Responsibilities
- Be part of the Material Compliance team and actively support regulatory and operational compliance activities across the product lifecycle.
- Take ownership of compliance request coordination and actively support material compliance declarations for internal and customer needs
- Perform initial reviews of certificates and material compliance documentation to ensure regulatory completeness and data quality.
- Contribute to Material Compliance software initiatives, including system testing, data preparation and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining compliance databases, substance inventories and legal registers for chemical and product regulations.
- Additional tasks may be assigned by the manager verbally or in writing
- Enrolled student (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in engineering, natural sciences, environmental sciences or a comparable field.
- Interest in material compliance, chemical regulations or product compliance topics.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including a high proficiency in Excel; knowledge in Power BI preferred.
- Structured, detail-oriented working style and personal drive.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in English and German.
