Masterthesis: Knowledge Agents and Agentic AI in Research and Development (m/f/d), Duration 6 months

Responsibilities

• Further development of an AI-based knowledge agent for research and development applications.
• Development and evaluation of applications based on Large Language Models and Agentic AI.
• Integration and structured provision of information from different internal data sources.
• Development of methods for searching, connecting, and providing scientific and technical information in context.
• Evaluation and improvement of the quality, reliability, and usability of the developed solutions.
• Collaboration with experts in materials informatics, chemistry, data science, and information technology.

Qualifications

• Completed bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, chemistry, materials science, physics, or a related field.
• Understanding of the fundamental concepts of Large Language Models and interest in Agentic AI systems.
• Good programming skills in Python.
• Knowledge of databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, vector databases, or related technologies is an advantage.
• Experience with Azure Databricks is an advantage.
• Experience with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps is an advantage.
• Knowledge of chemistry or materials science is an advantage.
• Interest in applying modern AI technologies in a scientific and industrial environment.
• Good English skills.
