Job Description
As a Working Student – Electrical Design & Engineering Tools, you will support the General Engineering team in developing and maintaining electrical design deliverables and improving internal engineering efficiency through digital and AI-based tools. You will work closely with electrical engineers and solution engineers. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world energy storage projects and engineering workflows, offering an excellent opportunity to apply your technical knowledge while contributing to process standardization and automation within Fluence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation and maintenance of electrical diagrams and design documentation (e.g., single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, templates) using CAD tools
- Assist in the development and improvement of standardized engineering templates and technical documentation packages
- Contribute to the maintenance and structuring of engineering data, including BoMs, datasheets, and documentation repositories
- Support the development of engineering tools and scripts (e.g., Python-based utilities, data processing tools) to improve internal workflows and efficiency
- Explore and prototype AI-based solutions to automate repetitive engineering tasks and enhance productivity (e.g., document generation, data structuring, quality checks) Assist engineers in processing and organizing project-specific documentation for customer deliverables
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes, tools, and documentation
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field)
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, especially low-voltage systems
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar) for electrical diagram creation
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Basic programming knowledge (preferably Python) or strong interest in developing scripting skills
- Structured and detail-oriented working style
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Interest or initial experience in automation, digitalization, or AI-based tools
- Familiarity with engineering documentation, electrical layouts, or BoMs
- Understanding of renewable energy systems or battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional and international team environment
