Your area of work

As an intern (f/m/d) you will be supporting the Business Development & Market Readiness team in the area of Clearstream Issuer Services & New Digital Markets. The team is responsible for creating and distributing the business strategy narrative for the overall digitization and more specifically the DLT /Blockchain strategy in the post-trade area, internally as well as externally. This position will enable you to gain interesting insights in a very innovative business area within Deutsche Börse Group. Innovation is the key driver in our area: We are working on the digitalization of financial products, utilizing Deutsche Börse’s next-generation digital post-trade platform D7 - providing a fully digital alternative to conventional physical issuance and processing of securities.

You will be part of an international and highly motivated team, with colleagues working in Eschborn and Luxemburg. You will be assigned to an interesting and diverse mix of tasks and responsibilities such as assisting go-to market and sales strategies and generating insightful internal intelligence, senior management presentations, competitor analysis as well as market research related to issuer services products.

Your responsibilities:


  • You will develop and execute regular reporting and KPIs such as volume and revenue development to continuously monitor business performance against key metrics
  • You assist with the creation of market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for issuer services products in the digital services area
  • You Identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities and market offerings in close cooperation with internal stakeholders
  • Besides that, you support the development of go-to-market & sales strategies across key client segments for new and existing products: prepare and update internal and external sales material, such as customer pitch decks and senior management decision proposals
  • You support market readiness activities, such as member onboarding and tracking progress around client activities
  • Furthermore, you will support activities related to the annual budget process


Your profile:


  • You are enrolled during the entire period of activity at a state-recognized university as a regular student and have completed at least one semester (focus in the finance sector is of advantage). Furthermore, we offer the possibility of an orientation internship, whereby you are currently in a gap-year after your bachelor's or master's degree in the above-mentioned fields of study - in this case, a certificate of enrolment is not required
  • You are passionate about new technologies, innovation, and media content creation
  • You can work independently and are able to meet tight deadlines. Your high motivation and analytical skills help you to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics.
  • You possess strong creativity, organizational and communication skills, with a good understanding of corporate branding and communication and the ability to work in a team whilst collaborating effectively with relationship management, IT, Operations and others
  • You are well-structured and have very good organizational and analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts
  • You are interested in financial markets and applications of data/IT in this sector. A good understanding of the post-trade and securities business is a plus
  • You have very good knowledge of the usage of Microsoft Office Tools (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English, ideally also in German

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
