At Boehringer Ingelheim, we offer students the opportunity to explore the world of pharmaceutical research from the inside. As an intern and master student, you’ll be part of a team at our main research site in Biberach. During your time with us, you will collaborate closely with experienced scientists, exchanging ideas and gaining valuable insights that support your personal and professional development. You’ll gain hands-on experience, contribute to real projects, and learn from experts in a company that’s shaping the future of healthcare.
You will gain an insight into the following topics and areas of activities
- Design, develop, and validate innovative biosensors for GPCR pharmacology and high-throughput screening applications
- Plan, execute, and optimize experimental studies with a focus on cell-based assay formats
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, generate insights, and ensure accurate documentation of findings
- Prepare comprehensive reports and present experimental results and insights to scientific experts and stakeholders
- Develop and adapt assay workflows for integration into fully automated high-throughput screening platforms
Your profile
- Master student in biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, pharmacy, chemistry, or related discipline
- Strong interest in GPCR pharmacology, biosensor technologies, and assay development
- Knowledge of molecular biology and mammalian cell culture techniques
- Experience with data analysis and scientific problem solving. Independent and structured working style. Good communication skills in English
What we can offer you
- As a student intern, you can expect a fair expense allowance (payment of the currently valid minimum wage)
- During your final thesis you will receive an allowance of 900€ per month
- You will be given 2.5 days of paid time off for every full internship month
- A full-time internship is 37.5 hours a week (a smaller number of hours can be arranged)
The duration of the internship is 3 months followed by 6 months of thesis research. The earliest possible start date is currently October 1, 2026. Please enter the desired period in your application.
