Beschreibung bereitgestellt von AstraSense
Company Description
AstraSense develops operational intelligence systems that transform complex Earth observation, satellite and geospatial data into clear, explainable insights for real-world decision-making.
Its Planetary Intelligence platform brings together heterogeneous observations, detects meaningful change, interprets the evidence and helps users understand what matters, how reliable the signal is, and what action may be appropriate.
By combining multiple sources and signals, including vegetation indices, thermal observations and temporal patterns, AstraSense aims to turn fragmented observations into structured intelligence with explicit confidence and evidence.
The company is initially focused on environmental monitoring, disaster and fire-related intelligence, while developing a broader foundation for future applications across Earth and planetary environments.
AstraSense places particular emphasis on clarity, transparency, evidence and practical operational impact.
Role Description
The Earth Observation & Geospatial Intelligence Intern will support the analysis and interpretation of satellite imagery and geospatial datasets for the AstraSense Planetary Intelligence platform.
The role will involve working with Earth observation data, exploring methods for change detection and environmental intelligence, validating observations, and helping translate geospatial information into structured and actionable insights.
Typical activities may include:
- preprocessing, analysing and validating Earth observation and geospatial datasets
- exploring satellite-derived indicators and temporal patterns
- supporting the development and evaluation of change-detection and risk-assessment methods
- investigating how multiple observation sources can be combined
- creating clear maps, visualisations and analytical outputs
- documenting methodologies, findings and experimental results
- supporting research and prototyping of geospatial intelligence workflows
- collaborating with AI researchers, software engineers and domain experts
- contributing to the development of decision-support capabilities within AstraSense
This is a full-time,remote internship with hands-on involvement in research, prototyping and the development of operational intelligence capabilities.
