Intern (d/f/m) in the field of Space-based Intelligence,
Surveillance and Reconnaissance

- Location: Friedrichshafen
- Start: September 1st or October 1st , 2026
- Duration: 6 months
We are looking for applicants with a good understanding of the satellite subsystems including the various instrument types (e.g., SAR, RF), the overall system or constellation performances and the dynamic environment we are operating in.
To improve this understanding, Airbus Defence and Space develops innovative space-based capabilities for ISR. Your job will be to support those activities, especially in the RF signal sensing domain.

- Design and Implementation or improvement of software tools used for the simulation and analysis of space-based RF signal sensing or ISR in general.
- Simulation, analysis and optimization of different mission scenarios and assessment of mission performance in the domain of RF signal sensing or ISR in general.
- Supporting work for running projects within the domain of space-based ISR.
- Enrolled full time Master student (d/f/m) in space or aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, software engineering or related fields.
- Strong background in orbital mechanics, satellite systems, mission analysis and experience in RF signal sensing would be an asset.
- Strong background in object-oriented programming (e.g., Python) with a focus on numerical optimization.
- Strong communicative skills and positive attitude towards teamwork.
- Fluent English and German.
- Interest in space-based ISR and space in general.
