Student Assistant Photo & Video* in Bonn

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of 1 year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.

Your Responsibilities

  • You support the management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of our global photo and video database as well as our Brand Portal.
  • You collaborate with colleagues from our country offices to plan, coordinate, and provide visual content for our global communications.
  • You independently research photographers and videographers from around the world.
  • You review, assess, and curate photo and video content, selecting the most suitable assets for different target audiences and communication channels.
  • You independently write captions and short accompanying texts for photo and video stories.

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled at a university, ideally in a degree program in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • You have a passion for photography, visual storytelling, and videography, and ideally have gained some initial practical experience in these areas.
  • You have a strong understanding of visual communication and know how to effectively select, curate, and use photos and videos for different audiences and communication purposes.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and have some experience working with photo databases and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • You write short texts, captions, and other editorial content with accuracy, clarity, and a strong sense of style.
  • Ideally, you have gained some initial editorial experience, preferably in the context of international development, humanitarian aid, or international cooperation.
  • You are well organized, reliable, and able to work independently, while also thriving as a collaborative team player.
  • You are fluent in both German and English.

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
