Description
As a Geospatial Analyst, you'll play a key role in our satellite-based intelligence solutions, including deforestation detection and EUDR compliance. You'll bring the geospatial expertise that powers our ML solutions, working with a variety of remote sensing data from optical imagery, SAR, and third-party datasets. You'll also work hands-on with client data and contribute to shaping the data collection processes for AI model development.
This position is part of osapiens Terra, a specialized team in Munich integrating remote sensing data and artificial intelligence algorithms in sustainability software solutions. We build enterprise software for deforestation free supply chains. Our SaaS solution ensures compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which affects thousands of European companies and their suppliers. For this, we track the supply chain end-to-end, from farmer to retailer, while leveraging satellite data and AI to detect deforestation.
Your Responsibilities
This is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the field of Geospatial Analysis in a fast-growing startup. You will:
- Collect and analyze geospatial image data (satellite, lidar) from various regions
- Use GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) to segment various land uses clusters
- Develop methods to continuously improve data analysis and validation
- Take ownership of your tasks and organize your work independently within a dynamic team
- Work closely together with our Geospatial Analyst Specialists.
Your Experience
- Currently enrolled (B.Sc. / M.Sc.) in studies such as geography, geomatics, remote sensing, computer science, agriculture, forestry or similar
- You are open to work full-time during this 6 months internship
- First experiences in using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Strong analytical skills and experience in analyzing data
- Excellent communication skills and a true team player
- Interest in forestry and remote sensing technology

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Wochenstunden
Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.
