Working Student for CAD AI Startup

Location: EU Remote (preferably Germany) | 10–20 hours/week

Manufacturing is one of the largest industries in the world (~$16.8 trillion in annual revenue) – and one of the most underserved by software. Engineers at massive companies still can’t find what their own organization has already built. They redesign parts from scratch, miss reuse opportunities, and discover problems too late.

We’re building 3ive at the intersection of expert engineering knowledge, modern software, and AI that reasons over 3D data. We’re not adding AI to old tools, we’re rethinking how engineering decisions get made.

We are live with major European manufacturers, well funded, AI-first in our processes and tool-stack, as well as a small international A-player team shipping fast.

We’re looking for a Working Student studying Mechanical Engineering, industrial engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), or a related technical field to support our team across CAD, data analytics, technical sales, and product management.

Here’s what your work at 3ive could look like:

• CAD & technical support: Analyse 3D models and engineering data, support data pipelines, help validate and improve our AI’s understanding of CAD assemblies.
• Automation & Data analytics: Build automated AI workflows, text use-cases and create eval sets, turn raw data into actionable insights for the team
• Technical sales support: Prepare technical sales materials, research prospects in manufacturing, support demos and customer conversations
• Product management support: Talk to engineers, help define the product roadmap, evaluate our internal toolstack, and translate user feedback into features

You’ll have a front-row seat to building an AI-first company from the ground up – and you’ll be shaping it, not just watching.

You’re sharp, curious, and hands-on. The common thread: We give you a problem, and you come back with a solution – fast, without being told how.

• Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, or a related technical program
• Proficient in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Comfortable with data – you can work with spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic analytics tools
• You move fast, take ownership, and thrive in undefined, fast-paced environments
• You already use AI tools in your daily work and are always looking for ways to be more efficient
• Fluent in English (German is a big plus)

Nice to have:

• Experience with computational design (python or Grasshopper) or parametric modelling
• Manufacturing or production engineering experience (internship, student job, or coursework)
• Remote working experience
• Familiarity with marketing, sales, or startup environments
• Basic programming skills (Python, SQL, or similar)
