Your Role

  • Support in planning, conducting, and evaluating experiments and test series in the field of thin-film coating development
  • Examine optical samples for defects, cleanliness, and relevant optical properties using a range of measurement methods
  • Perform measurements, tests, and measurement-system analyses
  • Systematic collection, processing, and analysis of measurement and experiment data
  • Document and present results within the team
  • Contribute to the creation and optimization of test plans
  • Regular work in a cleanroom under cleanroom conditions

Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a natural science or engineering program, e.g., Physics, Optics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Interest in optical thin-film systems and experimental development work
  • Strong technical understanding, as well as analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Thorough, self-driven, and team-oriented working style, as well as manual dexterity and enthusiasm for handling delicate optical components and samples
  • Initial hands-on experience with analytical measurement and laboratory methods (e.g., light microscopy, optical and mechanical measurements) is advantageous
  • Knowledge in optical thin films, coating design, or coating technology is desirable
  • Previous experience with data analysis and processing of measurement data, programming skills, and proficient use of MS Office are advantageous
  • Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Ingenieurwesen in Oberkochen für dich bedeutet: die Vergütungsregeln, die Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
