Internship Central Materials Technology Internship start: November 2026; Duration: 6 months

Tasks

During the internship, you’ll have the opportunity to prepare for your career and gain experience in all aspects of aircraft- for example, in the areas of materials analysis, strategy, product and project management, logistics, lean management, and research and development.

• Gaining practical skills with a focus on day-to-day operations of Lufthansa Technik AG’s Laboratory Services
• Development of modern laboratory analytics for fuel quality in flight operations
• Further development of analytical methods for aircraft system filters
• Identification of microbial contamination and biofilms
• Fluid dynamics evaluation and simulation
• Participation in workshops

Requirements

At the time of the internship, you must be in at least your third semester of a degree program in biochemistry, microbiology, chemical engineering, other engineering or natural science disciplines, or comparable fields of study.

• Enrollment for the entire duration of the internship (current certificate of enrollment and a written proof of mandatory internship must be included with the application) or an internship between the bachelor’s and master’s programs (Gap Year)
• Ability to analyze and present complex issues convincingly
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Proficiency with standard MS Office programs (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
