The small team of outdoor and design enthusiasts is particularly well known for its unique inflatable tents, which are used worldwide in the most extreme conditions. As a member of1% for the Planet,HEIMPLANET places great importance on conserving resources and is continuously working to improve materials and production processes.

At HEIMPLANET , we focus on well-thought-out product designs that combine functionality, durability, and style. To ensure that our products perform reliably in outdoor use while also meeting our standards for material and process quality, continuous design development is a central part of our work.

We are looking for support in this important area from amandatory intern in the field of product design.

Tasks

  • Collaboration throughout the entire product development process: Provide us with active support from the initial idea/sketch through the concept phases to the preparation of series production.
  • Concept and design work: Develop ideas, compare options, and prepare design directions.
  • Graphic design tasks: Create layouts, presentations, product graphics/branding elements, and supporting visuals, for example.
  • Material and component research: Research suitable fabrics and coatings, evaluate samples, and develop sustainable options with us.
  • Color & Trim Development: Immerse yourself in color worlds, combinations, and details, and translate these into harmonious proposals.
  • Creating functional models: Create functional models to test design, handling, and details.

Qualification

  • You are studyingproduct designora similar subject and are looking for amandatory internship lasting 6 months.
  • Interest inmaterials, workmanship, and details(e.g., fabrics, coatings, trims), including a desire to research, sample, and compare.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe(especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) for designing concepts, graphics, and documentation.
  • Ideally, you already have some experience with3D tools(e.g., Rhino) and a basic understanding of shapes, proportions, and construction.
  • Hands-on mentality: You enjoy practical work, trying things out, and also providing support with prototypes/functional models.
  • Structured, reliable, and independent way of working.
  • Youbringenthusiasm for the outdoors and everyday life.

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Design in Hamburg für dich bedeutet: die Vergütungsregeln, die Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
