Job Description

Hub facility design:

  • Support the design of internal layouts for our grocery delivery hubs in CAD — racking, pick zones, cold/ambient/freezer areas, staging, e-bike parking, and staff facilities
  • Help optimise layouts for operations processes, walking distances, and storage density
  • Prepare floor plans and technical drawings to support the construction and installation teams
  • Help check that designs align with German building, fire-safety, food-storage, and workplace regulations (e.g. Arbeitsstättenverordnung)

Site Scouting & Expansion Analytics

  • Help build and maintain spreadsheets and statistical models to evaluate candidate hub locations
  • Support analysis of catchment areas, population density, expected order demand, delivery radius, and cannibalisation between hubs
  • Assist in ranking potential sites by expected performance against rent and fit-out cost
  • Help prepare clear recommendations for the team and leadership

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree such as Industrial/Logistics Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), Architecture (Architektur), Civil Engineering (Bauingenieurwesen), Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable discipline
  • Some exposure to CAD, with eagerness to learn and specialise quickly
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets) and a genuine interest in working with data
  • An analytical, detail-oriented mindset paired with practical, hands-on judgement
  • Curiosity and flexibility; you enjoy learning new tools and wearing more than one hat
  • Fluent English with German being a big plus for dealing with external stakeholders from landlords to local authorities

Additional Information

For this role as a Working Student - Hub Design & Expansion Analytics (m/f/d)), the starting remuneration is as follows:

The base pay for this position is 14.00 to 16.00 EUR/hour
