Marketing working student (German-speaking)
About 8returns
At 8returns, we’re building the infrastructure for intelligent returns: turning a cost center into a profit and retention channel. Our B2B SaaS platform helps modern e-commerce brands make returns smarter, more sustainable, and more customer-friendly.
We’re based in Berlin, growing fast, and backed by experienced industry investors. Now, we’re building our marketing engine from the ground up - and we’re looking for a bold, creative working student to help us make it happen.
The role
This isn’t a role where you watch from the sidelines. As our Marketing Working Student, you’ll work directly with our Marketing Lead, the first marketing hire at 8returns, and get hands-on experience across the entire go-to-market (GTM) journey. You’ll learn by doing, own real projects, and help us shape our brand from day one.
What you'll be working on
Content & Communication
- Write and publish sharp, engaging content in German and English across all our marketing channels
- Translate and adapt customer stories and case studies
- Collaborate with freelance designers to generate evergreen and seasonal marketing assets
- Assist in drafting messaging for campaigns, sales decks, event promos, and internal comms
- Help keep our content calendar up-to-date and spot new opportunities based on trends
- Conduct light research to support content planning: from competitor analysis to topic ideation
Digital Execution
- CRO: Optimize web pages for conversion, build workflows, and implement technical SEO fixes with support from our team
- Create and test email automations for marketing and sales: from research, writing copy, personalization to setting up flows and reporting
- Assist in managing and updating website content (e.g., blog uploads, image swaps, copy tweaks)
- Monitor basic website and campaign performance in tools like HubSpot and Google Analytics
- Help troubleshoot small bugs, broken links, or formatting issues that impact the digital experience
- Support the setup of dark landing pages for paid and emails to improve engagement and conversion
Operational Enablement
- Finalize swag, manage vendor communication, logistics & activations for our biggest events
- Pull data from our CRM and help us make sense of it for use in budgeting, forecasting, customer and sales enablement
- Spot issues, solve problems, and suggest improvements to our marketing and sales ops setup - we love proactive thinkers
- Support internal reporting by helping track GTM KPIs, building slides for team meetings, or updating dashboards
- Help onboard freelancers by coordinating access, templates, and documentation
What We’re Looking For
We care more about attitude and ambition than a stacked resume. You’ll thrive here if you:
- Are a native German speaker and fluent in English
- Are currently enrolled in a university in Germany and available at least ~20h/week
- Love to learn, experiment, and figure things out
- Have a knack for trying out and making a modern tech stack work
- Have strong attention to detail, a feel for design and an understanding of numbers
- Are happy to come to our Berlin office 1–2 days/week when needed
Bonus points if you’ve played with content, web tools, email platforms, or design - even just for fun.
What You'll Get
- Real responsibility and ownership
- Close mentorship from an experienced marketing leader
- Exposure to content, brand, ops, and growth - the full GTM toolbox
- A front-row seat in a fast-growing SaaS startup
- Flexibility, autonomy, and a culture that rewards bold ideas
- Truly bring your real self to work
We’re not looking for someone who’s done it all - we’re looking for someone who wants to learn it all. If that’s you, hit apply and let’s build something amazing together.
