The Scope
The Student Assistant will be supporting the Procurement Unit in the preparation, cleansing, and standardization of vendor master data as part of FSC's current ERP transformation to a new one. And also contributing to improving data quality, consistency, and governance to ensure reliable data for migration, reporting, and operational processes.
Administrative / Operational Responsibilities
- To support the cleansing and preparation of vendor master data
- Identifyand flag duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent records
- Apply predefined naming conventions and formatting standards
- Toassistin data standardization and validation activities
- Perform completeness checks based on defined criteria
- Ensure consistency across datasets (e.g., country formats, categories)
- To support preparation of data migration templates and tracking files
- Maintain structured tracking of data cleaning progress
- Document changes and ensure traceability
- Toassistin organizing procurement-related datasets and supporting documentation
- Maintain organized data files and version control
- Ensure data readiness for review and validation
Planning / Support Responsibilities
- To support the implementation of data cleansing rules and guidelines
- Follow structured processes for data preparation
- Flag unclear or exceptional cases for review
- To contribute to improving data consistency and quality
- Identify recurring data issues and patterns
- Suggest improvements to data handling processes
Education and Training:
- Enrolment in a university program (e.g., Business Informatics, Business Administration, Data Science, or related field)
- Basic understanding of data management or information systems is an advantage
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- Initial experience (e.g., through studies or internships) in data handling or administrative support is a plus
- Ability to perform well while handling multiple structured and repetitive tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a structured, rule-based manner
- Reliable and organized working style
- Ability to escalate unclear cases appropriately
- Service-oriented and solution-oriented attitude
Computer Skills:
Good skills in the use of:
- Standard software packages (MS Office), especially Excel
- Experience with data handling tools (e.g., Excel functions, basic data processing) is a plus
- Exposure to ERP systems is a big advantage.
- Fluency in English.
- Germanis a plus
- Clear and structured communication skills
- Ability to document work and explain data issues clearl

- Working hours: 20 hours per week (ideally across 3- 5 days per week).
- Duration: 12 months (with an opportunity to extend)
- Remuneration: 14€ gross per hour.
- Location: Bonn, Germany (hybrid).
