What You'll Build

As a Working Student in the SAPUI5 team you will:

• Design, develop and maintain sample applications and productive features of OpenUI5
• Develop in JavaScript / ES 2024 supported by state-of-the-art AI tools
• Perform developments test-driven
• Work in a Scrum team and participate in all Scrum events if feasible
• Collaborate with the colleagues of your and possibly other Scrum teams
• Work on problems of internal and external stakeholders
  
  

What You Bring

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
• Preferred fields of study: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related field
• Computer skills / Programming languages: Proficient in JavaScript. OpenUI5 knowledge is a plus
• Language skills: Excellent command of English and German
• Soft skills: Team player with strong communication skills
• Strong analytical and logical skills
• Working from the Walldorf office is not required
  
  

Where you belong

Our department is responsible for delivering state of the art web frameworks and services for the User Interfaces of SAP applications. In this context SAPUI5 was developed, a highly scalable cross-browser JavaScript-framework. SAPUI5 contains many HTML5 based Web Controls which are used to create the UIs of SAP applications with SAP Fiori. Central parts of SAPUI5 are also available for the community outside of SAP under the name of OpenUI5, see https://www.openui5.org. Within SAPUI5 we are responsible for the models, in particular the OData models, which provide backend communication using the OData protocol and data handling. The team, you will join, is in Walldorf and Sankt Ingbert.

After an initial on-the-job training you will participate in all phases of the development, including refining and implementing backlog items, creating concepts, and presenting your work in the review meeting. As a team we use Scrum and perform developments test-driven.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
