Location: Berlin / Hybrid
Duration: By arrangement
Start: As soon as possible
We are a Berlin-based defense deep-tech startup developing mission-critical systems for defense against drones, missiles, and other airborne threats.
Our systems combine mechanical engineering, electronics, software, and sensing, and must perform reliably under real-world operational conditions.
As an early-stage company, we operate with high speed, close team collaboration, and a strong focus on technical excellence and ownership.
As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will actively contribute to the development of our hardware systems. You will support both conceptual work and hands-on implementation, including simulation, prototyping, and testing.
This role is ideal for students who are interested in real-world engineering systems and want to work not only theoretically, but also practically with hardware.
- Contribute to the design and development of mechanical or electromechanical components
- Support CAD modeling, design iterations, and detailed engineering work
- Assist with FEM and thermal simulations and help interpret results
- Support the setup, integration, and validation of prototypes
- Plan, build, and document test setups and experimental series
- Collaborate closely with adjacent teams in electronics, embedded systems, and software
- Contribute to additive manufacturing / 3D printing (metal, plastics, carbon), from part preparation to evaluation of form, function, and manufacturability
- Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in design, prototyping, validation, and interdisciplinary system development
- Initial experience with CAD is helpful but not required
- Independent working style, solid technical understanding, and strong willingness to learn
- Motivation to work hands-on with hardware
- First experience with simulation, manufacturing, or lab work
- Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, workshop work, or mechanical integration
- A paid internship with real responsibility rather than purely supportive tasks
- Hands-on experience building real-world defense hardware systems
- Close collaboration within a highly technical, interdisciplinary team
- High ownership and responsibility from early on
- Fast-paced startup environment with strong learning opportunities
- Hybrid work setup based in Berlin
- Hands-on and practical: You enjoy working directly with hardware and prototypes
- Curious and eager to learn: You actively seek to deepen your technical skills
- Structured and reliable: You work independently and follow through on tasks
- Collaborative: You enjoy working across disciplines with different teams
- Ownership-driven: You take initiative and responsibility for your work
