Job Summary

The Role holder will be an individual contributor.

  • Support Credit Structuring business in Europe and work in close collaboration with regional Structuring/Trading/Sales teams.
  • Develop sufficient product knowledge about Credit Structuring offerings that helps with business development with FI clients
  • Contribute to continuous innovations and review of Credit Structuring brand and offering as an integral part of Markets within Sales and Structuring in Europe.
  • Demonstrate excellent soft skills including deal communications and strong team play
  • The intern will put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during studies and strengthen his/her capabilities in the field he/she will work on. This practical training period in a professional setting will allow the intern to acquire professional skills and apply the knowledge gained from their training in order to obtain a diploma or certification and to facilitate their professional integration. The intern will be assigned tasks in accordance with the educational plan defined by their educational institution and approved by SCB. The intern will be tutored by a designated employee of SCB throughout the whole internship period.

Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Work with respective regional Structuring, Trading and Sales teams to help grow the structured credit business in line with SCB’s overall strategy. Provide inputs for the Credit Structuring team to drive service excellence via robust product support, bespoke solutions and strategic cross-asset guidance. Ensure that the Financial Markets structured credit product suite is delivered regionally with demonstrable Client focus in support of our objective to become core bank to our clients

Business

  • Help build Product and Client Structuring business regionally and ensure the continuing growth and stability of the business. Help to build good working partnerships between CIB teams, Product teams and FM sales teams in the region in order to provide a seamless and coordinated interface to our Clients in delivering our structured credit products and services. Work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver new product capabilities to enhance efficiency and expansion of the business.

Processes

  • Structuring is not responsible under the ORF (Operational Risk Framework) as 1st & 2nd line; for executing / completing, and for supervising any of the FM processes

People & Talent

  • Ensure great team work across different hubs and efficient execution and delivery of new products and replicable ideas; Share replicable themes plus participation in regular team meetings and calls; Continuous collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of the best solutions to clients in a timely manner.

Risk Management

  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them; Deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business, challenge fellow executives.

Governance

  • Bound by Code of Conduct of the Bank and ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations. Identify and escalate issues in a timely manner to properly manage conflicts.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Financial Engineering
  • A combination of technical (derivatives pricing, Quant Finance, programming, CFA, FRM) and business/finance qualifications is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of Credit, Rates and Commodity markets
  • Education - Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications; degree holder
  • Training - Bank training; complete all required mandatory & developmental training - role specific, and regulatory/compliance bank wide
  • Languages - English (mandatory), French/German (preferred)
