Your Role

You will have the chance to support our ATV division in development of automated firmware testing platforms.

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Take responsibility: Contribute to firmware validation by conducting hardware-level verification and ensuring system integrity
  • Design and development: Develop and maintain embedded hardware and software testing platforms to accurately simulate microcontroller peripheral interfaces
  • Automation and analysis: Implement automated test pipelines and integrate CI/CD tools to execute, monitor, and analyze firmware test results
  • Teamwork is dreamwork: Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to optimize test systems for project requirements and facilitate efficient root cause analysis and debugging

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

  • Field of study: You are currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field
  • Work style: You have a structured, detail-oriented, and reliable approach, with the ability to analyze and interpret datasheets, schematics, and microcontroller reference manuals
  • Technical expertise: Solid knowledge of embedded systems architecture, analog and digital hardware design, microcontroller peripherals, and programming in C and C++; comfortable working with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators
  • Testing &automation: Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing concepts; experience or interest in CI/CD workflows; basic scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python) for automation are an advantage
  • Tools &software: Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad) and version control systems (e.g., Git) is desirable
  • Soft skills: Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Availability: Willing to commit for a minimum of 6 months
  • Languages: Fluent in English. German is a plus

Important information:

  • Working part-time: The focus is on studies. That’s why working as a student employee during lecture period is limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
  • Proper students (according to the German law) are welcome: To work as a student employee with us, you must be enrolled at a university and not have completed all of your exams or modules for your degree programme. You must not be in a semester of leave. We look forward to welcoming you to our team for at least 6 months.
  • You should live close to the site: For good collaboration, it is important to us that you can come to the office regularly to integrate to the team.
