As IBM Z System Automation development team we are guided by IBM initiatives such as Hybrid Cloud computing and AI to make new technologies available in the automation environment.
We develop using modern methods of the agile software engineering process and the use of IBM Design Thinking. We are part of an international and globally organized development team for IBM Z Systems Management and IT Optimization Software, located in Ehningen, the US and India.

Your Role And Responsibilities
What You’ll Work On
As An Intern, You’ll Contribute To An Exciting Prototype Project That Explores a Modern, REST-based Approach To Communicating With IBM Z Hardware. You’ll
- Work with the IBM Z Web Services API
- Evaluate methods for handling asynchronous notifications (e.g., Java Message Service (JMS) or Server-Sent Events (SSE))
- Develop in C/C++ within the IBM Z NetView environment
- Optionally explore PLX, an IBM-internal programming language
- Supportive Team: You’ll be part of a friendly, international team that’s passionate about mentoring and helping you grow.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from around the world, including teams in Firmware and GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex).
- Unique Experience: Get exposure to enterprise-grade systems and tools that are rarely taught at university—but are critical in the real world.
