As an Investment Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience evaluating and supporting early-stage venture investments. This isn’t just an admin role: you’ll work closely with senior investors on real deals, analyze markets and finances, connect with founders, and learn how to spot great teams and opportunities. You’ll be involved in every step of the investment process and gain a real understanding of how early-stage venture investing works.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities by sourcing, screening, and analyzing early-stage companies. Prepare investment memos that summarize the market opportunity, business model, founder quality, and investment thesis.
- Conduct due diligence by researching target markets, competitors, and go-to-market strategies. Build financial models to evaluate unit economics and the path to profitability.
- Support deal-making by helping with term sheets, managing cap tables, and communicating with investors. Attend pitches and board meetings.
- Monitor the portfolio by tracking company performance, analyzing quarterly metrics, and identifying early warning signs or key turning points.
- Engage with founders by conducting technical deep-dives, interviewing domain experts, and summarizing insights for investment committees.
What You Will Learn
- How to evaluate early-stage companies, including market sizing, founder assessment, product-market fit, and competitive dynamics. You'll also develop financial analysis skills covering unit economics, burn rate, runway, and the path to profitability.
- The investment process and governance, including how VCs source, evaluate, commit to, and monitor investments.
- Founder and team dynamics: what makes exceptional founders stand out and how to assess their execution skills and resilience.
- The European tech ecosystem, including market trends, key players, and growth opportunities in SaaS, fintech, and AI.
